Institut Polytechnique de Paris and HEC Paris offer a two-year Master's program in Economics, fully taught in English, designed for students aiming to pursue research-oriented careers. the program targets future economists planning to work in public institutions, central banks, international organizations, consulting groups, finance, or academic research.
The program provides rigorous training in advanced quantitative methods for both theoretical and empirical analysis.
- First year: core courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and econometrics, along with supervised research projects offering a first hands-on experience in research.
- Second year: students specialize in a specific field of economics and write their first research paper in preparation for a potential PhD.
A "PhD Track" is available for students highly motivated to pursue research in quantitative economics and intending to continue with a PhD at CREST.
Students who achieve strong academic results, develop a solid research proposal, and secure a supervisor within CREST may enter the PhD phase (3 years), subject to funding. IP Paris and CREST support candidates in finding funding opportunities, including a limited number of three-year doctoral fellowships. Students focusing on financial economics or economic theory and decision sciences may also apply for the PhD program at HEC Paris.
