Institut Polytechnique Experimental Lab

IPEL – Institut Polytechnique Experimental Lab

Overview

The Institut Polytechnique Experimental Lab (IPEL) is the experimental research laboratory of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris, affiliated with both the CREST and the Department of Economics of the Institut Polytechnique de Paris. It provides a dedicated infrastructure to support experimental research in the social sciences, particularly in economics, sociology, and the study of individual and collective behavior.

IPEL enables researchers to design and conduct controlled experiments with participants drawn from both the student community and the general public. These experiments aim to deepen understanding of the economic and social mechanisms that drive human decision-making.

Activities

  • Design and implementation of online and laboratory experiments;
  • Recruitment and management of a pool of volunteer participants;
  • Technical and logistical support for experimental research;
  • Training in experimental methods for students and early-career researchers.
